Blast from the Past: Jon Stewart on "Crossfire"

This is amusing for a few reasons... one is the way Stewart totally mocks the show... the line about the media "huuurting" us is classic... another is the way little weanie Tucker Carlson keeps whining about Stewart not being fun and seemingly denying Stewart's critique, while Begala basically seems to concede the show is a joke to some extent. But on another level, Carlson is right, and Stewart is being uncomfortably rude, and Stewart comes across as a crank more than anything... and the fact is, Stewart does have an opportunity, even a responsibility, to also hold politician's feet to the fire, but more often than not, he doesn't. And now, Stewart is even bigger than most political pundits, and while he often makes valid points about hypocrisy and lies by our govt, ultimately he covers up for, distracts from, and excuses the truly deeper evil that runs things-- the PTB.

yeah, I don't watch him except for the random clip online. He's funny but he could do so much more-- definitely a gatekeeper.
