End of the Year Miracle: A Stairwell Remaining in the WTC1 Core

Just noticed this in this picture I downloaded some time back:

Note the stairwell in the core section that escaped the destruction! (upper middle of photo, be sure to click to enlarge)

It's almost as if someone standing on the stairs there could have avoided death, the stairs are essentially intact. Mind-blowing.

I'm not sure this proves demolition by itself, but I think this intact stairwell tends to support the idea of demolition more than collapse-- as a straight-down collapse of that whole tower wouldn't have left this section alone, whereas you could imagine with demolition, the core sections above this core section would have been blown away before they fell straight down to smash this remaining section.

wow there is a lot of detail that i notice in the enlargement - check out how massive that rusty core column in the center is.
also check out how sturdy the guys boots are and notice that the manager guy is the only one wise enough to be wearing his mask.
also note the blue "do not park" dumpster is full of debris which means that it has been there for several days at least, which makes me realize that it must have still been pretty hot there for that steam to be rising.

Check out moron #1 with the yellow fanny pack; his left leg is placed on a strange beam-like structure...what kind of beam/column is that?
