Of COURSE it was a deliberate fabrication. The only questions is
why was it done?

The U.S. itself is not going to attack Iran, so that can't be it.

Maybe it's part of a plan that will result in Israel attacking Iran - but even that seems to me to be unlikely.

if israel just has to attack iran then they will most likely false-flag attack themself first (in a frame-up of iran).
iran is not so foolish as to attack anyone first, especially israel who has over 3oo nuclear weapons and the best air-force that u.s. dollars can buy.
poor israel!

IMO
It's unlikely that Israel will "false-flag attack itself" because that might start a war that would cause it (Israel) big problems for many years to come.

hmmm. IMO iran is not foolish enough to attack israel first, so if your and my opinions both have merit then there should be no danger of actual war between iran & israel.

Possibly it's just to stoke up fear here in the US, a good distraction from other more torublesome issues-- although clearly this backfired. But I'm sure there are hoards of wingnuts who think Iran was really really threatening us and how dare them and how restrained the US is for not bombing the shit out of those suckers.
