I agree with the proposition that there is really only one party in power.

That said, Gore's comments strike me as being not only smart politics, but also quite reasonable.

Your life is peachy? When everyone in the world with the exception of your toe suckers are conspiring against you?????

Talk about denial.....

The world is either going to hell led by the evil Bush empire or its not, Spooky. Make up your fucking mind.

My personal life is fine, that is.

The world of politics and where the country/world is going sucks.

I'm just saying, apart from 9/11, Iraq, fake terrorism-related angst, I'm happy enough.

As far as Gore, not impeaching may be good politics, but it certainly isn't justice. Though I think Cheney needs to be impeached first, because there is no reason to impeach Bush just to get madman Cheney in control of the country.

life is awesome!
but cheney is probably already in control of the country.
bush seems to be like those statue figureheads on the prow of an old sailing ship.
"look at me, i'm decidering!"

Spooked:

As you know, impeachment is a matter for the Congress to exercise (if they so choose). Corporate media would slam Gore from here to eternity if he was to PUBLICLY advocate impeaching Bush and/or Cheney.

I didn't say that impeachment is not politically wise, nor did I say that it shouldn't be undertaken or that NOT doing so would amount to an injustice. All I said (and meant) is that it would be politically UNwise for AL GORE to publicly advocate impeachment. As per my above comment. Note also that Gore also didn't say that it would be an injustice if Bush/Cheney weren't impeached. He made no comment (in the quoted article) one way or the other about the issue of justice as it relates to the possible impeachment of Bush or anyone else.

My personal opinion is that Gore probably believes that he lost many a vote in the 2000 presidential election as a consequence of Clinton having been impeached for a minor "offense", yet Bush hasn't had been called to account for the major crimes that should have long ago resulted in him being impeached, and I'd bet that Gore sees THAT as being a major BIG time
injustice. But, as a sophisticated player of power in our country's political life, Gore knows it would be wise to refrain from saying in public what he know doubt surely feels.

anon 7:11: Spooked is saying that our government is a conspiracy against us, and that the Democratic and Republican parties are appendages of the same conspiracy. This is not "conspiracy theory," it's realistic political analysis.
The idea that our concerns about 9/11 and Iraq are all about Bush hating is right-wing propaganda. The idea that electing Democrats will change this is also propaganda of the right-wing, of which the Democratic party is part.

I doubt you have the intellectual and moral capacity to understand, but two examples are lies to justify war, and the political influence of banks on usury and bankruptcy laws.

Sounds to me like you are the sucking the toes of the ruling class. How's it taste?

8:41 AM SHILL

I'm wondering if you would like to give us the benefits of your view of the world we all live in.

Briefly describe your general political attitude towards current domestic and foreign affairs.

Who is your presidential candidate for 2008?
